India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported that 288 Indian nationals remain unaccounted for following devastating flash floods in Nepal. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the missing include people working on hydropower projects and members of tourist groups.
Of the 288 unaccounted, 73 were working on the Trishuli One Power Project. Jaiswal said India's embassy in Kathmandu is in touch with the project head to get more details about these individuals.
The MEA also confirmed that 21 Indians from Tamil Nadu have been rescued. Additionally, around 200 Indians in Tibet have sought assistance from India.
Jaiswal stated that India would continue to extend all possible assistance to Nepal in dealing with the situation arising from the flash floods.
