The Union government has announced an investment of around Rs 28,840 crore over the next ten years to expand the UDAN regional connectivity scheme and strengthen air connectivity across the country. The announcement was made by Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu after a Civil Aviation Consultative Committee meeting in Mysuru, attended mostly by members of Parliament. He said the government has been engaging with states on improving aviation infrastructure, providing better connectivity, and ensuring more efficient airport operations and management. The minister noted that the UDAN scheme has shown progress over the past decade.
