CISF detains four suspected Bangladeshi nationals and Indian handler at Agartala airport
Security personnel detained four suspected Bangladeshi nationals and their Indian handler at Agartala airport on August 24. The group, which planned to fly to Kolkata and then split to Delhi and Bengaluru, was handed over to Tripura police.
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel detained four suspected Bangladeshi nationals and an Indian handler at Agartala's Maharaja Bir Bikram airport on August 24. The individuals were reportedly planning to take an Indigo flight (6E 6097) to Kolkata, after which they intended to split into two groups and travel to Delhi and Bengaluru, according to a CISF source. They came under suspicion during routine surveillance, and their details were verified in coordination with Tripura Police and other agencies. The group was handed over to Tripura police. This was the second such instance within a fortnight of a group suspected to be of Bangladeshi origin being denied boarding at the same airport.
