Tension prevailed on KR Road in Basavanagudi, Bengaluru, on Wednesday evening when two groups clashed over alleged communal issues. The trouble began when a group celebrating Eid Milad was marching past the office of activist Puneet Kerehalli and allegedly shouted slogans, provoking Kerehalli and his associates. Kerehalli and others stopped the marchers and sought an explanation for the slogans. Heated arguments then broke out between the two groups, resulting in clashes. An associate of Kerehalli, identified as Murali, sustained head injuries during the clash. Kerehalli and others demanded legal action against the attackers. Police were present with the Eid Milad group and tried to intervene, according to reports, but the situation escalated. Complaints have been filed in connection with the incident.
