Delhi Master Plan 2047 silent on 351 pending mixed-use roads

The Master Plan for Delhi 2047 does not address 351 roads awaiting notification as mixed-use and commercial streets. The proposal was passed and forwarded to the Delhi government by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi in 2007, but clearance and notification remain pending. This has left traders worried about sealing risks and unclear regularisation.

According to the new plan, mixed-use and commercial streets already notified by the Delhi government will continue with permitted activities, but no new road will be notified. The plan also permits mixed-use development along roads with a right of way of 30 metres or more, allowing commercial activities on the ground or first lower floor in buildings with stilt parking.

Under the previous Master Plan for Delhi 2021, 2,538 roads and streets were notified for mixed-use and commercial activities.
