Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi on Monday convened a meeting with senior officials of the Department of School Education and Literacy to discuss the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) amid public scrutiny of its 2026 Class 12 board examination evaluation process.
In a post on X, Joshi said the meeting reviewed key priorities for strengthening CBSE's academic, examination and administrative processes, focusing on greater efficiency, transparency and improved support for students and teachers.
The CBSE exam results announced this year have faced criticism over the digital on-screen marking system adopted to review answer sheets. Students have reported several issues, including lower marks than expected, missing pages, and unreadable scans of answer sheets. The controversy has also highlighted technological mismanagement and administrative failures, contributing to a trust deficit among students.
The minister's meeting signals an effort to address these concerns and improve the board's overall functioning.
