Flender, a supplier of wind turbines, opened a new generator production site in Chennai on Monday. The facility, operating under the company's Winergy brand, is part of Flender's strategy to expand its wind business in India and increase localisation of its manufacturing and supply chain, the company said in a release. The new site is designed to bring Flender closer to customers, improve supply chain efficiency, enhance responsiveness and shorten lead times, while also strengthening the company's market position. It also adds integrated winding operations to improve local capabilities. According to Flender, the facility expands the company's capabilities across the wind drivetrain value chain and will support increasing demand for wind power solutions.
