Flood victims' bodies from Nepal found in UP's Maharajganj
Three bodies, including two women, were recovered from the Gandak river in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district. They are believed to be flood victims from Nepal, and authorities are coordinating with Nepal to identify them.
In a spillover effect of severe flooding in Nepal, the bodies of three flood victims were recovered from the Gandak river in Maharajganj district of eastern Uttar Pradesh. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel retrieved the corpses, including two women, after spotting them floating near border outposts. A motorboat was used to pull the bodies from the water, and they were sent to the district headquarters mortuary. Local authorities said they are in contact with Nepalese counterparts to share physical descriptions and trace the victims' families. Identification procedures were underway.
