Residents of Prem Nagar in Dehradun face roadside garbage dumping, clogged drains, illegal parking and a nonfunctional signal on Chakrata Road, raising safety concerns.
In Dehradun, residents of Prem Nagar are grappling with garbage dumped on roadsides and in drains, illegal parking and poor traffic management. On Chakrata Road, near the turn towards Nanda Ki Chowki bridge, waste has piled up on slopes outside houses, on vacant plots and inside drains. Residents said rain often carries the waste down onto the main road. Stray cattle in the area sometimes disrupt traffic and eat plastic from the garbage, according to resident Ashwin Kumar. Shopkeepers said they do not receive regular door-to-door garbage collection on that stretch. Ajay Bishnoi, who runs a shop there, noted that traders have to dispose of waste themselves, adding to the problem. Pedestrians are especially vulnerable on busy stretches due to these conditions.
