The central housing and urban affairs ministry has set a November deadline to clear utilities and obstructions along a 2.2-km stretch of the Gurgaon Metro Phase-I corridor. The project is now under PMO-level monitoring.
Authorities have been directed to complete pending utility shifting and remove obstructions along the upcoming Gurgaon Metro alignment by November. The instruction came after a review inspection by D Thara, secretary of the Department of Capital Development in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and chairperson of the Gurgaon Metro Rail Limited (GMRL), along with Managing Director Chander Shekhar Khare. Officials from NHAI, DHBVN, and HVPNL were told to fast-track operations and hand over a clear 2.2-km corridor for construction. The stretch between Hero Honda Chowk and Umang Bhardwaj Chowk, part of Phase I, has several pending utility works. The project is now being monitored at the PMO level.
