Haryana sets Aug 24 deadline for AgriStack farmer registration

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has set August 24 as the deadline for targeted farmer registration on AgriStack, the central government's digital agriculture initiative. He directed districts to work on a 'war footing' and assign registration targets to revenue and agriculture officials. Saini said he would personally review progress on that day, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's review on August 25, and sought explanations from districts reporting slow progress. AgriStack will provide each registered farmer a unique Farmer ID, digitally link agricultural land parcels with land records, maintain digital records of crops sown on individual fields, and facilitate geo-mapping of villages and agricultural land. Saini said the platform would help ensure faster delivery of benefits under schemes such as PM-KISAN. A Digital Crop Survey is also scheduled to run from August 16 to September 30 as part of the same effort.
