The central health ministry has urged early recognition of H1N1 symptoms and prompt medical consultation, issuing an advisory as Delhi's case count surpasses 1,700.
The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has advised people not to ignore persistent H1N1 symptoms and to seek medical help at the nearest healthcare facility. In a social media post, the ministry listed fever, cough, sore throat, headache, runny nose, body aches, and fatigue as common signs, along with lethargy, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, joint and muscle pain, and diarrhoea. A doctor from MedFirst ENT Centre explained that H1N1 infection, commonly known as swine flu, can present with these symptoms. The advisory comes as Delhi has recorded over 1,700 cases of the infection.
