Heavy rain hits Delhi-NCR, disrupts flights and causes waterlogging
Heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR and other parts of north India caused flight delays and cancellations at Delhi's airport, along with waterlogging and traffic disruptions, particularly in Gurugram.
Heavy rains on Monday affected several parts of north India, with Delhi-NCR receiving the heaviest rainfall. The bad weather led to flight diversions, delays, and some cancellations at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in Delhi.
Traffic snarls were severe in Gurugram, where parents were seen carrying children through flooded roads to reach school buses, and vehicles were stuck on waterlogged roads. Waterlogging was reported in areas including Narsinghpur, Hero Honda Chowk, Rajiv Chowk, IFFCO Chowk, and parts of old Gurugram. School buses and ambulances were also caught in waterlogging on Sohna Road.
Parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh also received rain during the day. The district administration said Gurugram received significant rainfall, though the exact measurement was not fully reported.
