According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), annual growth in India's residential property prices moderated to 3.6% in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), down from 4.5% in the previous quarter. The RBI's All-India House Price Index (HPI) stood at 117.5 in Q1 FY27, compared with 116.2 in Q4 FY26 and 113.4 in the same quarter a year earlier. On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the index rose 1.1%. The RBI attributed the latest annual growth mainly to price increases in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Thiruvananthapuram. The data indicates that while property prices continued to rise, the pace of increase has eased.
