Speaking on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Ramesh said General Chauhan's latest comments, along with his earlier revelations, had raised understandable concern and warranted a formal review. Ramesh also referenced a media interview General Chauhan gave in Singapore on May 30, 2025, during which he made significant remarks about Operation Sindoor. The Congress general secretary (communications) said the combination of those earlier statements and the new remarks made a comprehensive official assessment necessary.
