The Jharkhand government has constituted a three-member high-level committee to review the service conditions and appointment procedures of officials in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) and recommend reforms. The committee is chaired by the development commissioner, with the secretaries of the personnel and finance departments as members. The notification was issued late Tuesday night, and the government has said the exercise will respect the constitutional and statutory autonomy of the two recruitment bodies. The move follows a 26-day protest by JPSC and JSSC aspirants in Ranchi.
