The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), the cyber wing under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has introduced an online Money Restoration Module (MRM). It lets eligible cyber fraud victims request the return of money held in beneficiary or suspected scammer accounts without visiting government offices or bank branches, subject to verification and legal procedures.

The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), operating under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, has built an online money restoration module for cyber fraud victims. The facility, called the Money Restoration Module (MRM), allows eligible complainants to initiate the refund process for funds that have been frozen or held in a beneficiary's or suspected scammer's bank account, officials said on Friday.
According to officials associated with the MHA's cyber wing, victims whose complaints have resulted in an eligible amount being held in a beneficiary account can now submit a restoration request online. The process eliminates the need to visit government offices or bank branches, though the restoration remains subject to verification and applicable legal procedures.
