Minor gang-raped in Madhya Pradesh's Pachmarhi; three held
A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped in Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, after her male friend was tied to a vehicle. Police arrested three local youths and booked them under the POCSO Act and BNS.
Police in Madhya Pradesh's Narmadapuram district arrested three local youths in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 17-year-old schoolgirl in Pachmarhi on August 19. According to police, the survivor's male friend, also from school, had visited Pachmarhi to meet her. The two met the accused at a bus stand and later went for a drive in a four-wheeler to a forested area near South Scout Guide. Police said the accused knew the victims. After reaching a secluded spot, the accused allegedly threatened the pair and tied the male friend to the vehicle when he resisted. The girl was then allegedly gang-raped. The three accused, including the car driver, were taken into custody and booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
