The Punjab government and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) signed an MoU to set up 'Startup Punjab Hub – Neuron 2.0' at STPI Mohali with an investment of Rs 29 crore, focusing on cybersecurity, AI, IoT, and next-generation startups.
The Punjab government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to establish 'Startup Punjab Hub – Neuron 2.0' at STPI Mohali. The total investment for the project is Rs 29 crore. Punjab industries and commerce minister Aman Arora said the new incubation centre will build on the earlier Neuron 1.0 and support startups through incubation, mentoring, advanced infrastructure, skilling, product commercialisation and industry linkages. Under the agreement, the Punjab government will provide Rs 12 crore in-principle support, while STPI will contribute Rs 17 crore. STPI will operate and manage the facility. The hub will focus on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, Internet of Things and audio-visual graphics.
