Qube Cinema plans to expand EPIQ premium large-format screens to 30
Qube Cinema, a Chennai-based digital cinema technology company, plans to expand its EPIQ premium large-format screens from about 12 to 30 over three years, adding Dolby Vision and Atmos. The first new screen is expected in Kerala.
Qube Cinema, a digital cinema technology company based in Chennai, plans to expand its EPIQ premium large-format (PLF) screens to 30 across India within three years, according to co-founder Senthil Kumar V. The company currently operates about 12 EPIQ screens and aims to reach roughly 20 by the end of the year. New EPIQ screens will feature Dolby Vision and Atmos technology. The first new screen is set to open in Kerala.
PLF screens are larger and offer improved projection technology and an immersive viewing experience. Other PLF brands include IMAX and PVR's PXL. Kumar said the expansion is driven by growing demand for premium audiovisual formats, and he expects adoption initially from individual exhibitors before national chains.
