Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday criticized the Central and Uttar Pradesh governments over the alleged gang-rape of a minor girl on a moving bus in Noida. Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, said Delhi-NCR has become unsafe for women. He stated that a minor girl was allegedly gang-raped for 47 kilometers in a sleeper bus from Greater Noida to Delhi. Gandhi questioned how neither the Delhi police nor the Noida police had any inkling of the incident, despite the bus crossing the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Delhi's Ring Road, and the border. He also asked whether there would be any accountability and said that the crime would have a curtain drawn over it under Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Gandhi noted that even after the 'Nirbhaya' case, rules for checking and monitoring such buses are still not being followed.
