Sasan Power ash dyke damaged again at same spot in Singrauli

The outer boundary of Sasan Power's ash dyke at Siddhikhurd village in Singrauli district was damaged again on Saturday, at the same spot where a landslide had occurred eight days earlier, officials said. District Collector Gaurav Beniwal sent the tehsildar and a team to inspect the site. The extent of fly ash leakage and any loss to crops or property has not yet been assessed, he said. The administration issued a notice to the company on August 17 and informed the pollution control board, which directed the company to stop disposing of fly ash at the dyke. Heavy rain had caused the initial landslide on August 14. The company repaired the damaged stretch, but fresh damage was reported at the same location on Saturday afternoon.
