From October 1, the State Bank of India (SBI) will charge Rs 15 plus applicable GST for each cash withdrawal beyond the monthly limit of four free withdrawals. The charge applies to Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts opened through the branch channel. SBI announced the change in a public notice, saying customers will continue to get four free cash withdrawals per month. Once that limit is exhausted, each additional cash withdrawal will incur the fee. Digital transactions will remain free, with no restriction on the number of transactions. The notice also mentioned a change in how Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AePS) transactions are treated.
