Hyderabad-based Skyroot Aerospace has begun transporting the first stage of its second Vikram-1 rocket to the Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. The shipment, dispatched from the company's Infinity campus in Hyderabad on specially fitted trucks, comes about a month after Skyroot's first successful orbital launch.

The company said the remaining stages are expected to follow in the next couple of months. Proof-pressure tests on the second and third stages have been completed, and propellant filling is under way before shipment. The first stage, named Kalam-1200, honours the late Indian scientist and former president APJ Abdul Kalam. Skyroot targets a second test flight by the end of the year.
