Teachers, students protest week-long waterlogging at Prayagraj college
Teachers and students at CMP Degree College in Prayagraj protested against waterlogging that has persisted for over a week, demanding immediate action to clear the campus.
Prayagraj: Waterlogging at CMP Degree College has continued for more than a week, prompting hundreds of students and teachers to protest on Monday. The demonstrators gathered outside Gate No. 1 of the college, a constituent institution of Allahabad University, and demanded immediate action to drain the campus. The protest was led by principal Prof Ajay Prakash Khare, former mayor and governing body chairperson Chaudhary Jitendra Nath Singh, and teachers' association president Prof Rajat Kumar Srivastava. Protesters said the problem was no longer confined to rainwater, with dirty water affecting the campus and surrounding areas. The demonstration took place amid a wider waterlogging crisis in Prayagraj, with roads outside CMP submerged and dirty water entering homes and student accommodation.
