A Tecnam P2006T twin-engine training aircraft operated by Garg Aviation Ltd., Kanpur, crashed near the Ganga Barrage on August 27, 2026, according to preliminary information. The aircraft, registered VT-NBV, was on a training flight within the local flying area of Kanpur Civil Airport when it came down about 5 nautical miles from the airport. Both persons on board—a trainee pilot and an instructor—sustained fatal injuries. The flight took off at approximately 11:30 a.m. and crashed about 20 minutes later. The instructor had around 3,000 hours of flying experience. A DGCA team has been dispatched to investigate the accident and provide regulatory oversight.
