The Centre told the Delhi High Court that the National Testing Agency will hold fresh UGC-NET June 2026 exams for English, Commerce, and Sociology in September after complaints of question-paper errors and alleged paper leaks.

The Centre informed the Delhi High Court on Wednesday that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct fresh UGC-NET June 2026 examinations for three subjects following complaints about errors in the question papers and allegations of a paper leak. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Centre, said the English and Commerce papers will be held on September 9, and the Sociology paper on September 10.
Justice Jasmeet Singh disposed of a petition filed by a candidate who had appeared for the Sociology examination on June 30. The petitioner had sought a stay on the declaration of results, an independent investigation into the alleged paper leak, and a re-conduct of the exam. Mehta told the court that the authorities had already decided to hold the fresh exams.
