Flash floods in three districts of Nepal have affected a group of pilgrims from Tamil Nadu who were travelling on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. On August 27, 2026, the Union Ministry of External Affairs announced that 21 Indian nationals from Tamil Nadu had been rescued. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the list of rescued persons on social media. Earlier that morning, Tamil Nadu School Education and Information Minister Rajmohan said the state government was taking steps to rescue 103 Tamils, including Justice Sivagna.
