56,294 students get provisional allotments in third round of TN engineering admissions

In the third round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 counseling, a total of 56,294 candidates received seat allotments, according to an official press release. In the general category, 48,501 students were given provisional allotments, while 6,183 students who opted for upward mobility received tentative allotments. Under the horizontal reservation category, which provides 7.5% reservation for government school students, 1,172 students received provisional allotments and 438 got tentative allotments. Students with provisional allotments are required to report to their respective colleges and complete the admission process on or before August 27, 2026. Those with tentative allotments are required to visit the TNEA Facilitation Centre (TFC) for further steps.
