Coimbatore students hospitalised after drinking school water tank water

Around 20 students from a government middle school in Unjavellampatti near Pollachi were admitted to the Coimbatore District Government Headquarters Hospital in Pollachi on Tuesday after they complained of throat irritation and stomach pain. The students had consumed water from the school's drinking water tank after having their mid-day meal, according to officials. Some teachers who drank water from the same tank also reported similar symptoms. School staff informed the parents and, with the help of locals, transported the students to the hospital.
