DMK raises questions over CM office relocation tender, stalled library project
In the Tamil Nadu Assembly, DMK's E V Velu questioned the relocation of the Chief Minister's office, alleging that a Rs 5.54 crore tender was not floated online and that work had nearly finished before the tender was issued. During debate on grants for the public works and highways department in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Tuesday, DMK whip E V Velu raised concerns about the ongoing relocation of the Chief Minister's office. He alleged procedural lapses, noting that the Rs 5.54 crore tender for the work was not floated online and that the tender appeared to have been issued almost after work on the CM's room was nearly complete. Velu also said officials at the Namakkal Kavignar Maligai have complained of space constraints. He additionally flagged stalled works on the Periyar Arivulagam library in Coimbatore and a statue and memorial in Kerala's Vaikom.
