Tourism officials say a decades-old demand for an entertainment park at Thirumoorthy Dam in Tiruppur district is set to be fulfilled after the state government allocated ₹19 crore for tourism development there.

Tourism department officials have said that a decades-old demand for an entertainment park at Thirumoorthy Dam in Udumalaipet, Tiruppur district, is expected to be fulfilled soon. This follows the state government's allocation of ₹19 crore for tourism development at the dam.
Thirumoorthy Dam is one of the prominent tourist spots in the area. The Panchalinga Falls, the Amanalingeswarar Temple, and the dam are located at the foot of Thirumoorthy Hills. Many tourists visit daily to bathe in the waterfall and see the dam.
However, visitors and residents have long complained about the lack of adequate tourism infrastructure matching the natural surroundings. Boating had been introduced at the dam by the local body administration, but it was temporarily suspended about 15 years ago for security reasons. The new allocation is intended to address infrastructure gaps, with officials indicating that the entertainment park project is now set to move forward.
