Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Ramesh said on Wednesday that a technical feasibility study to manage the flow of devotees at Arunachaleswarar temple in Tiruvannamalai is underway. He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a review meeting with the district administration.

The minister said the number of devotees visiting the temple town has increased manifold over the years, leading to longer waiting times in queues inside the temple. The study aims to introduce measures to regulate the flow of devotees.

He also said the district administration has been directed to provide civic amenities, including additional water taps and shelters, in the temple premises. The minister additionally defended the ban on the use of mobile phones at the temple.
