Forest Department works to identify tiger linked to two deaths in Gudalur

The Forest Department is yet to identify the tiger that killed two men at O'Valley in Gudalur, The Nilgiris district. Officials said they spotted the tiger using a drone camera after the attack, but they have not been able to obtain a clear image to match its Unique ID with records in the National Tiger Conservation Authority's M-STrIPEs database. Divisional Forest Officer (Gudalur) P. Devaraj said it appears likely the animal responsible is a male tiger known to inhabit the area, but there is a high chance more than one tiger is using the region. Investigations into the second man's death are ongoing.
