Four children killed by milk van in Dindigul district
Four children were killed when a milk van hit them while they were playing near a road in Vadamadurai, Dindigul district. Police have registered a case.
Four children were killed after a milk van hit them while they were playing near a road in Vadamadurai in Tamil Nadu's Dindigul district on Sunday afternoon, police said. The accident occurred around 2.30 pm at Kanavai Medu in Kollampatti Samathuvapuram under the Vadamadurai police station limits.
The victims were identified as N Yogavarshini (11), N Ananya (6), J Dhanushree (5) and C Moshikaran (6). Police said Yogavarshini and Ananya were sisters. The children suffered fatal injuries and died on the spot.
An elderly woman, P Anjammal (60), who was grazing goats nearby, fainted after witnessing the incident and was taken to a primary health centre, police said. The bodies were taken to Dindigul Medical College Hospital by relatives.
The van driver fled the spot after the accident, according to police. Vadamadurai police have registered a case and are investigating.
