DMK MLA and former minister V Senthil Balaji appeared before the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Chennai on Saturday for an inquiry into alleged irregularities in the Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (Tasmac) liquor business. Speaking to reporters afterwards, Balaji criticised the government over issues raised in the Assembly on the Electricity Board (EB). He questioned the electricity minister about 38 hard disks reportedly recovered after 18 were initially said to be missing. "I asked where the remaining 20 hard disks were recovered from, but there was no answer," he said. He also cited the government's white paper, which, he said, recorded the replacement or installation of 99,000 transformers during the previous DMK regime. Regarding claims of three files against the DMK of corruption in three departments, which the Chief Minister said were on his table, Balaji said they should be released if they existed.
