The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, C Joseph Vijay, inaugurated facilities built at a cost of ₹23.67 crore at the Arulmigu Mariamman Temple in Irukkankudi, Virudhunagar district. The newly opened facilities include a tonsure hall, an Annadhanam hall, 24 dining halls, and 235 shops selling puja articles. The Annadhanam hall can accommodate 125 devotees at a time, while each dining hall can seat 25 people. The facilities were constructed following requests from devotees, an official release said.
At the same event, the Chief Minister handed over appointment orders to 80 candidates selected through the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission for posts in the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department.
