The Tamil Nadu government has denied reports of irregularities in the tender process for setting up the Chief Minister's new office at Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai. It said office works will begin after tender scrutiny on September 1.

The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday denied reports of irregularities in the tender process for works to set up the Chief Minister's new office at Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai in Chennai. A government press release said the Public Works Department (PWD) was only moving furniture—tables, chairs, microphones and other items—from the conference hall on the 10th floor of Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai to the Kalaivanar Arangam complex.
According to the release, office-related work will begin only after tenders are scrutinised on September 1, the last date for submission, and a work order is issued to the lowest bidder. The government also said the tender notification was published in newspapers and the State Tender Bulletin on August 13, uploaded on the tender website on August 15, and tender documents were made available online on August 17.
