The third edition of Kalvi Kural, a symposium on foundational learning, was held in Chennai on Saturday. The event brought together policymakers, government officials, teachers, students, researchers, technology experts, and civil society representatives to discuss issues affecting teaching and learning in primary classes.
Discussions covered the use of artificial intelligence in classrooms, whether a common foundational learning model could work across the country, assessment and measurement, community participation, teacher mentoring, and the role of children in shaping schools.
Speaking at the event, Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board CEO Pooja Kulkarni said foundational learning should not be treated as a time-bound programme but should become central to the functioning of every classroom.
