Tamil Nadu plans elevated corridor to shorten Tirupati travel time
The Tamil Nadu government has proposed a four/six-lane elevated corridor along the congested Padi-Thirunindravur stretch of the Chennai-Tiruvallur Highway. Public Works Minister Aadhav Arjun announced the project in the Assembly, nearly 13 years after earlier road-widening plans were abandoned. Officials say the corridor would be the state's longest elevated road and could cut travel time to Tirupati from about three hours to 90 minutes.
