Tamil Nadu police create internal vigilance cells in all districts and commissionerates

Acting on instructions from Director-General of Police and Head of the Police Force Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, Tamil Nadu police have constituted Internal Vigilance Cells in every district and commissionerate. The cells are intended to prevent, monitor, and investigate allegations of corruption, misconduct, abuse of position, and other unethical practices by police personnel or officers. To make reporting easier, district- and city-specific WhatsApp numbers have been designated for the public to submit complaints. The move is aimed at strengthening integrity, transparency, and public confidence in the police department.
