Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar directed members and media not to publicise notices under Rule 55 and adjournment motions under Rule 56 until they are admitted by the Speaker, citing Rule 36(5) of the Assembly Rules.
Tamil Nadu Assembly Speaker J.C.D. Prabhakar on Monday directed members of the House and the media not to publicise written notices submitted under Rule 55 of the Assembly Rules and adjournment motions under Rule 56 until they are admitted by the Speaker. He said some members, after submitting notices to the Speaker and the Assembly Secretary, were releasing them to the media and on social media platforms, including X. The Speaker said this is not allowed under Rule 36(5), which states that a notice shall not be given publicity by any member or any other person until it has been admitted. He requested the media to refrain from publishing such notices before the Speaker's approval to ensure orderly proceedings in the House.
