The city has seen persistently high temperatures over the past week, with daytime readings crossing 39°C on most days and touching 40°C again on Wednesday. According to local weather blogger N Prassana, the heat is driven by weak monsoon activity, dry westerly winds, and low soil moisture. Tiruchy has also registered the highest temperatures among all districts in Tamil Nadu over the past three days, indicating intense localized heat conditions.
