Law Minister C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar announced in the state Assembly that the Tamil Nadu government will establish a State Advisory Board to advise on preventing crimes against women and children, eliminating narcotic substance use, and expediting related cases. The Minister also announced the creation of a Tamil Nadu Law Compilation Web Portal to provide public access to enactments and amendments to bills in Tamil Nadu. In addition, new postgraduate LLM degrees will be introduced from 2026-27 in government law colleges in Salem, Namakkal, Theni, and Karaikudi. The Tamil Nadu Student Hostel and Accommodation Corporation's involvement was mentioned in connection with government law colleges at Vellore and Chengalpattu. CCTV cameras will be installed in 12 government law colleges, including one in Chennai.
