The DMK, AIADMK, Congress and PMK raised an attention-calling motion in the Tamil Nadu Assembly over efforts to rescue Tamils stranded in Nepal following flash floods.

Leader of Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin asked about the status of those still unreachable and the government helpline: "Many Tamils who went missing in Nepal are still unreachable. How many calls were received on the government helpline? What action has been taken?"
Congress members urged the government to send a helicopter to Nepal to rescue Tamil pilgrims and to provide advance warnings about disaster risks at tourist destinations. AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami also raised the issue.
