Rajesh Kumar said during the demand for grants for the Tourism Department in the State Assembly that the department plans to develop popular film shooting spots in public-private partnership mode. The move follows tourist interest in visiting such locations and re-living scenes. The project aims to provide facilities including experience centres, signages, parking spots, and refreshment areas. Details about the spots will be made available to the public through QR codes.
The Minister also said the department will take up development works at a cost of ₹48 crore at sites including Pechiparai dam in Kanniyakumari district, Thirumurthi dam in Tiruppur district, K.R.P. dam in Krishnagiri district, and Kodiveri dam in Erode district.
