TNEA 2026: 68,640 students get tentative seat allotments in third counselling round

In the third round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2026 counselling, 68,640 of 1,02,719 eligible candidates received tentative seat allotments. Students must confirm their allotments by 5 p.m. on August 22 to avoid cancellation.

The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) committee announced tentative seat allotments for the third round of engineering counselling on Friday, August 21, 2026. A total of 68,640 candidates received tentative allotments out of 1,02,719 eligible candidates. In this round, 1,06,583 engineering seats were available for filling.

The committee has instructed students who received tentative allotments to confirm their seats using the proper confirmation option by 5 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026. According to a release from the TNEA committee, failing to confirm a tentative allotment could result in its cancellation.
