Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with U.S. Ambassador to China David Perdue on Wednesday and called on both sides to focus on a positive agenda, properly manage differences, and overcome obstacles to high-level exchanges, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported. Wang acknowledged that China-U.S. relations still face various risks and challenges. The meeting comes ahead of an expected summit next month between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The two leaders met in Beijing in May, where they pledged to keep the relationship stable and maintain a fragile trade truce.
