A man has gone on trial in Finland accused of committing sexual offences against 361 children on social media platforms between 2019 and 2022.

The Pirkanmaa district court held a public presentation of the case on Monday, with proceedings continuing behind closed doors on Tuesday. The defendant is charged with carrying out sexual offences on 361 children aged 9 to 15, with the abuses allegedly occurring on platforms including Snapchat. According to the Finnish public broadcaster, the victims were boys living across Finland. Finnish police announced in December 2025 that they were investigating a 27-year-old man suspected of 364 sexual offences against children. The National Prosecution Authority later said in June that prosecutors decided not to press charges in three of those cases.
