Saudi Arabia has responded with dozens of airstrikes. The latest two struck Mocha airport, Houthi media reported on Friday.
The report said the fighting in Yemen has taken centre-stage in a wider West Asia war that erupted with US-Israeli strikes on Iran and prompted Iran to blockade another waterway.
